Stereotypes: the way you see things is the way you will always see them, unless you change it. It colors your vision. You see what you want to see. How does "The" and "They" connect with that? It's about sweeping generalities. "The" or "They" xxx do or did this (did they ALL?). This puts people at the opposite end of a playing field with no room or correction on perceptions or pre-judge-ices.
